On February 10, 2021, I remember journaling the following quote by Mark Anthony that states: "And one day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears." It was a moment of realization that life was about to change and I didn't even know how or what to expect. It was as if the universe was showing me signs, synchronicities and connecting me with people that were challenging me to see myself in a new way, a healthy way, towards a path of growth and transformation. I learned that day the meaning of love....self love, a love that I learned from a place of depth, reflection and from a support system that shined their light to me, courageously guiding me through moments of despair. I was blind back then but now can clearly see how the power of self love, courage, strength and endurance pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. That is why I consider self love to be such an important element in our survival, existence, and reflection of our inner well-being which in turn reflects in our outer experiences. As an engineer, I have always been very intrigued by process, journey maps, experiences, design and reengineering of flows. Intrinsically, my flow has always been one of reflection and instrospection in learning how things work, connect and flow together. If I had to map out in a simple way a "Top Down Map" shedding light of my inner circle it would include the following:
Faith, Family (my daughters Dahlia and Daphne, parents and brother), Self, Gym (F45 - Woo Hoo!), Friends, Community, Professional Connections, Church.....there are so many but these are some of the ones that make up my inner circle and influence a life of purpose and love.
As I embark on this journey, I can share more how each have played a role in my life towards healing and wellness.
What about you? What are ways that you connect or build upon your power of self love?
